All gates are mede from Tanalized redwood, tanalized wood has been specially treated with a mixture of chemicals to make the timber more durable and long lasting. it is also more resistant to rot, fungus, mould, and insects, as well as hardier in extreme weather conditions.
You do not have to treat tanalised wood, though it is recommended for a couple of reasons. Firstly, your timber will last longer if you choose to do some maintenance and If you wish to avoid wood turning grey as it ages. The gates will have a greenish tone when first fitted but this will change with the evaporation process. I would recommend leaving the gates for 4 weeks (after installation) to dry out completely, then Paint them using either sadolin, sikkins or decking oil. Sorry but I do not offer a painting service.
